Sir,

With reference to your Minute of yesterday's date regarding Mr. W. Wagner's application for four months' vacation leave and twelve months' leave on half pay,

I have the honour, by desire of His Excellency the Governor, to acquaint you, for information, that the Secretary of State's sanction to Mr. Wagner's retirement from this Colony involves his resignation of his present post and the privileges which attach to it.
